When you leave home, for an hour or the season, you can send one text message to your Insite and your house will power itself down to a safe, secure, low-energy state. Any security events, smoke alarm, flooding, freezing or power-outage alerts, will be sent to you by SMS, wherever you may be.

Before you return, another message to the home can get it all powered up to a comfortable temperature and even turn on the porch light and spa heater.

What is unique about the Insite solution is that you do all this from your mobile phone, not the internet. The only ongoing costs of having these controls are for SMS messages and monthly fees for the SIM card in your Insite and phone.

Other devices offering similar remote functionality work over the internet. That means you need an internet service, your own web address, and a computer running 24/7 at home. Plus, to control it from your mobile phone, your phone needs to be web enabled. With Insite you only need a pre-paid or post-paid SIM card at home, and your mobile phone doesn’t need web access to send and receive messages.
