Control and Telemetry

Send your Insite i2 an SMS Message from your GSM mobile phone to turn switches on and off by remote control, or to request a telemetry reading.

PROCESS MULTIPLE COMMAND SEQUENCES

To make it easier to manage your assets, Insite allows multiple embedded commands to be received within a single SMS message string. This means you can save a command sequence in your GSM mobile phone as a template with a meaningful description followed by the sequence of commands to be executed.

These commands can contain a request for remote telemetry, activate remote control switches and functions as well as perform programmed WAITs between commands. For example, a monitored switch can be set up so that, upon activation, it sends a message to your mobile phone, triggers a series of timed telemetry reports, operates some other external functions, sends a GPS position report and sends a STATUS report on all switch states and functions. In other words, one device can tell you when something happens, as well as automatically initiate a series of other functions as a result. All these features are remotely accessible from any registered mobile phone.

PEER TO PEER CONTROL

Insite i2 has the ability to perform Peer to Peer functions over six channels in both directions. Two or more Insite units can communicate with each other without any human or mobile phone intervention. A switch activation at one Insite can be used to activate other functions remotely at other Insites, provided a small network delay can be tolerated. These can be used to control devices such as lights, pumps, motors and equipment remotely. All control messages received by Insite are selectively confirmed after execution.
